Microblading

Microblading is a procedure in which pigment is deposited into the epidermis in hair-like strokes using a fine blade. It is semi-permanent and results in natural looking brows. Microblading is an art, and not an exact science, and that is why we have an experienced artist that will give you a custom experience.

Combo Brows

Combo brows use two permanent makeup techniques: Microblading and machine shading to create a more defined eyebrow. This is good for clients who prefer well-defined brows and or clients who have dark, patchy brows.

Powder Brows

Powder brows use only machine shading to create a powdered effect. This technique is great for clients who want a well-defined brow tattoo. It is good for all skin types, especially oily skin with large pores.

How long does Microblading last?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. Touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years maintain shape, color, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:

- Skin type (oily skin fade faster)

- Pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster)

- Sun exposure  (over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment)

- Use of daily anti-aging products e.g.- (Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy). These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo.

How Long does a Microblading Procedure take?

Two hours on average. During your appointment we will consult with you the entire time ensuring we are on the same page. Much of the time is spent measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows and agreeing on your perfect shape and color. The actual procedure itself takes 30min to an hour. The touch-up appointment will take about an hour.

Is The follow up Touch up Required?

In order to ensure that the brows heal perfectly a minimum of two treatments are usually needed 6-8 weeks apart on average. This first touch-up is required as it gives us the ability to correct any areas that possibly faded or allows the client to make suggestions if they want adjustments with the shape or color.

Does Microblading Hurt?

We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. Before the Microblading begins, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic during the procedure. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it’s relatively pain free for most.

(PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)

Can I exercise after getting Microblading?

You must avoid working out for 7 days following your microblading appointment. Light exercising is allowed (minimal sweating), but you must clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water as soon as you are done exercising. The salt in sweat will fade the pigment very quickly and give poor results.

Can I get Microblading if I am Pregnant?

As a precaution to avoid any complications, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant or breast feeding women.

  • Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements 48 hours prior to the procedure.

  • Discontinue Retin-A at least 4 weeks prior (Avoid on eyebrow area after procedure)

  • Refrain from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior (Avoid eyebrow area after procedure)

  • Wear little to no makeup to see true skin undertones

  • Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 2 weeks prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables.

  • No brow waxing, tinting, or threading one week prior (the more natural hair growth you have, the better)

  • Avoid chemical peels, Microdermabrasion or facials for 4-weeks prior to the procedure

  • Antibiotics increase the risk of poor ink retention

  • CANNOT be pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Microblading might not be for you if you are prone to Keloids

  • Bring in photos of how you typically fill in your eyebrows & a brow pencil to see desired color

  • Avoid planning vacations/water/sweating or sun exposure at least 10 days after treatment

  • Wash your hair prior to your appointment

After- Care

  • First 10 days, clean the area very gently with Cleanser provided.

  • After the first 24 hrs. apply aquaphor 1-2 times a day, light application after cleanse.

  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss!

  • COMPLETELY avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure.  Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change color while it is healing and can also cause hyperpigmentation and scarring.

  • Avoid pool, sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and/or hot baths for 2 weeks.

  • Avoid sweating for a full 10 days. Any physical effort, gym, hot weather, any other activity that may cause sweating through or on the brows will expel pigment from the dermis producing poor results.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face/brows for the first 10 days.

  • Keep your bangs and hair pulled back from your face for the first 10 days.

  • NO makeup or skincare products to be used on the treated area for two weeks.

  • NO facials, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

  • NO botox for 4 weeks. We recommend that it’s best to wait until after your touch up heals to get Botox, as an educated injector will take your new brows into consideration when choosing where to inject.

  • After 10 days, once the area has healed completely, consider using sunblock when going out in the sun to stop the color from fading.

  • Eyebrow tinting should not be undertaken for 2 weeks after your procedure.

  • Avoid Retin-A, Chemical Peels and Microderms around the brow area once healed.

Please note: Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural healing for the first two weeks. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures.
